Meditation Resources
Meditation does not belong to one religion. It does not ask you to give up any beliefs or cultural traditions. It is a universal life skill that can bring peace and healing to our world — it has certainly brought those things to my life. That's why I'm sharing these meditation resources with you. Rooted in Mindfulness
This center for learning, practice and community is located at 4040 N Calhoun Rd. in Brookfield, WI. It's local to me and it's one of my favorite places.
Headspace
This app makes meditation simple. It's great for beginners. See what brilliant things happen in a calm mind.
Insight Timer
This free meditation app has over 4,000,000 users. It has an amazing database of meditations, a timer, and a community element. Buddhify
This is a meditation app that focusses on mobile or on-the-go meditation. Meditate wherever and whenever.
10% Happier
A clear, simple approach to meditation by author Dan Harris and today's most respected teachers and scientists, this guided meditation app and the corresponding book are great for the fidgety and skeptical among us.
The Loving Kindness Meditation
This is a meditation practice of softening the heart and mind, developing an inclination toward love and kindness. It comes not out of obligation, but rather from a selfless place. I've listed some traditional Metta phrases below. These will get you started, but I encourage you to develop your own.
May I be free from suffering.
May I be at peace.
May I be happy.
May I live with ease.
