Auckland Action
We’ve enjoyed the last couple days in Auckland and understand why it ranks number three on the most livable cities in the world by Mercer’s Global Quality of Living Survey. It is a very approachable, clean, dynamic walking city. And boy did Jason have us walking! We loved the marina, had lots of fun checking out the mega yachts and the sailboats. We are in awe of all the development and building through out the city. We stayed at the Swiss Bel-suites Hotel. It is a great location, very clean and has wonderful decks for relaxing!
Sierra and Jack got another aderenline rush bungy jumping off the Sky Tower. Their willingness to jump off a building that high is impressive and concerning. We value these experiences of facing fears even though they cause cortisol spikes in me! Here they are basking in the adrenaline rush after the jump.
I went to a meditation class at the Auckland Buddhist Center. I was warmly greeted and though the meditation was different from my regular class at Rooted In Mindfulness in Brookfield I thoroughly enjoyed it. They invited me to join the group after for tea, cake and discussion time. I was in awe that the discussion time was so similar to our discussions at my class at home. People sharing authentically about their challenges all bonded by their wellness journey with meditation.
Clearly Auckland has something for everyone and lots of great restaurants and shopping through out. We are spending the next couple weeks with in an hour of Auckland and look forward to continuing to explore the city. Our favorite places to eat so far were along the marina - Headquarters and Portofino. And the kids enjoyed the big chess board too!
We had to stop at this coffee shop! I enjoyed my breakfast of salmon, poached eggs, and spinach. The kids weren’t crazy about the French toast with bacon and yogurt.
Everyone enjoyed the bagels and donuts from this local spot - Bagel Love.
Now we are off to our farm stay in Matakana. From the beach to the city to the farm, the adventure continues providing daily opportunities to connect - so grateful.
