It’s more than just a chore to a mom.

As a new mom it can be a bit of a shock that such a tiny person can make so much laundry, but there is joy in folding tiny onesies.

Then it can become a bit of an annoying surprise that a toddler can find so many creative ways to dirty their clothes, but their clothes we picked out, they’re still cute.

And then it can become very bothersome that a child uses the hamper as a way to clean their room, but they’re still young and at least they’re trying to clean their room.

And then it can become the time they should do their own laundry, but it’s our only clues into who our teenagers are as we check the pockets and smell the clothes trying to still know them.

And then just like that they leave with their laundry and we yearn to touch their clothes.

There is a thing about laundry. We may never want to do it but it is everything.

And then they live across town and call and ask you for a big favor to run to their apartment, they forgot a hamper with wet towels as they left for a trip.
