Top 5 Books of 2023

In 2023 for the first time I did a reading challenge inspired by Goodreads.com. I challenged myself to read 25 books, just over two books a month seemed like a good goal. I passed my goal and read 28 books. For 2024 I’m pushing my goal up to 30 books and I’m challenging myself to expand my reading genres.

I’m pretty much a historical/family drama fiction reader. I’m going to step out of my comfort zone and read some new genres. I’m starting 2024 with a fantasy titled, The Ten Thousand Doors of January, by Alice E. Harrow. I’ve NEVER read fantasy (besides Harry Potter to my kids). I’ve been stuck in reality. I’m almost done with this book and have absolutely loved it! I highly recommend it; thought provoking, beautifully written and simply magical. Thank you to Jenn Beck, a regular customer at Books and Company customer for recommending it to me.

5. The Mumor of Bees, by Sofia Segovia

4. The House of the Spirits, by Isabel Allende

3. Love & Saffron, by Kim Fay

2. Dear Edward, by Ann Napolitano
